The Research Coverage Project aims to ultimately increase the demand for small and medium sized and larger companies that are looking to raise funding through the local capital market.
The Project is offered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in cooperation with the Athens Stock Exchange ("ATHEX") and is funded by the Greek Government through the ‘Hellenic Republic / EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund - TCF' and will provide free, publicly available, high quality research reports to investors. The goal is to overcome information barriers which depress market liquidity, ultimately aiming to increase the availability of market financing opportunities for less covered listed companies by making the market more transparent to investors, creating success stories and generating spill-over effects. The Project will focus closely on the specifics of companies listed in the Athens Stock Exchange.
The Project will fill the gap in research coverage of listed companies which constrains the local capital market and its liquidity due to a lack of investor awareness of un-researched companies.
The project is expected to start in September 2023 and the research coverage reports will be available free of charge for a period of two years. See the reports
here.
How does it work?
A domestic or international consultant who will undertake the stock market analysis and coverage of the selected listed enterprises will deliver the Project. The minimum number of reports is two (2) per year per enterprise for a total period of 2 years. Additional reports will be carried out on an ad hoc basis.
The cost of the reports and the Project overall will be fully covered by the EBRD. The cost of participation for the selected enterprises is zero. However, the active participation and commitment of the selected enterprises is required.
Who is it for?
Companies listed in the Athens Stock Exchange (main or alternative market) with limited research coverage.
The Project cannot engage with:
- companies that operate in military activities or production, in tobacco, gambling or financial services
- companies that do not comply with the EBRD's standards of integrity and compliance (see http://www.ebrd.com/integrity-and-compliance.html)

EBRD Research Coverage Project - Supported by the Athens Stock Exchange
In 2023, the Athens Stock Exchange and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) launched a competition for the project: "PR 009896 ? Research Coverage Project: Provision of research coverage services for selected listed Greek companies in the Athens Stock Exchange", as part of the EBRD's "SME Pre-Listing Support" Program, funded by the Ministry of Development. This initiative aimed to highlight the prospects of listed companies and promote the development of the Greek capital market by providing high-quality financial analyses based on international standards for at least 8 companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange that lacked previous coverage. Eurobank Equities was awarded the project. The analyses will be available free of charge for two years, aiming to enhance the visibility of these companies among investors and consequently their stock liquidity.
