Regarding today's announcements concerning the purchase of the Romanian Telecommunications Organization ?RomTelecom S.A.?, OTE announces the following: In 1998, OTE bid for a 35% interest in RomTelecom, through international tender, and following transparent negotiations with the Romanian government acquired this stake for a total amount of $675 million. This was the only amount paid by OTE for this acquisition.
