25,3% growth of profits at 1st half 2003 - EBT reach euro 62,5 million according to International Accounting Standards (IAS)

Intralot announced significant growth on its financial results for the 1st half of 2003 (30/06/2003). According to the Greek Gap (GAAP), the consolidated revenues reached euro 173 million in comparison to euro 154,8 million at the same period last year, a rise of 11,8%, while Earnings Before Taxes (EBT) recorded an increase of 25,3% year-on-year by reaching euro 55,3 million, compared to euro 44,2 million for H1 2003.

The Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortization (EBITDA) recorded an increase of 26,3% by reaching euro 62,5 million from euro 49,5 million at the same period in 2002. For the parent company, consolidated revenues reached euro 53,5 million from euro 42,3 million at the 1st half of 2002, a rise of 26,5%. The Earnings Before Taxes (EBT) recorded an increase of 39% and reached euro 34 million compared to euro 24,5 million y.o.y.

According to the International Accounting Standards (IAS), the consolidated revenues reached euro 173 million and the Earnings Before Taxes (EBT) euro 62,6 million. In Greece, the company?s activities had a continuing growth at the first half of the year, as the revenues of fixed odds betting games of OPAP, that are organized by Betting Company, had a significant increase and reached euro 870,4 million, while the sales of Instant Lottery 'Xysto' reached euro 77,9 million.

During the second quarter, Intralot S.A., in the context of its international activities, has been awarded a new 10-year contract for the operation of fixed odds betting via telephony in Serbia, through its subsidiary Yugolot. Yugolot will undertake the implementation of the technological infrastructure and Betting Company will provide the related services for the operation of the game.

In FYROM the company proceeds with the installation of the integrated on-line system of the state lottery organisation 'Lotarija na Makedonija', which operates Lotto, fixed odds betting, Bingo, Instant Lottery and slot machines? games. In Romania the installation of the Videolottery terminals in new points of sale continues.In Bulgaria, Eurofootball?s financial results are very satisfactory. Bilot, Intralot?s subsidiary owing 49% of Eurofootball, recorded an increase of sales, which reached euro 13,8 million.

In Poland, following the 10year agreement with the state lottery organisation 'Polski Monopol Loteryjny', 3 Instant games at 2800 points of sale all over the country were launched in August.

In Turkey, Intralot?s subsidiary Inteltek completed the installation of the new system and in August launched 2 games through its 1000 terminals? network. As far as Latin America is concerned, the company proceeds at the realization of the project in Peru, while in Chile sales are stable, while a new game is expected to be launched in September. Intralot S.A., by capitalising international market?s opportunities, is constantly strengthening its position in the global market of gaming equipment and services? suppliers. The company holds its position among the 3 biggest companies of its sector in terms of revenues and profits, whereas the start up of new projects within this year will significantly contribute to the increase of its financial results.
